I just upgraded a computer to vista. When I plug in the ethernet cable from my internet into the computer, it doesn't detect anything. So I go to my device manager and see if there's anything wrong with the nic. The adapter isn't even there. I have an HP a500n. So I go to the HP website and download the Network adapter driver, put it on a flash drive, and bring it to the non-working computer without the internet. The instructions say to update the driver with the file I have. But the driver's not even in the device manager list so I can't update it...

So...

Any help?

*also, I think it's an ASUS A7V8X-LA motherboard, if that helps.

After a few hours of trial and error, I finally got it to work. Thanks.
