I'm trying to get rid of some AdWare (AdStatServ to be specific) , this program offers a free scan but to utilize it you must purchase it. Before I do anything I thought I'd check here to see if it's a "clean" program or a waste of money. Here is a link:

Hello ColtsFan18,

The program is safe from what I have gathered edited to remove borderline malware advice.

ColtsFan18,

I would have a problem recommending any program that requires a purchase in order to fix the problems that have been found. If you have adware that you would like to get rid of, then you could visit this link. There are some free programs we recommend there that may help you rid your computer of the issue. If not, feel free to post a Hijackthis log in this forum.

I was kinda thinking the same thing Sari, thats why I asked... there are a few that I've bought that worked well, but they were much larger programs like XoftSpySE. I'm having no problems right now so I don't want to bother any of the techs, I just hate knowing it's there, you know?

Coltsfan,

I believe the instructios for Superantispyware are in the link I gave you, as well as a download link and instructions for MBAM. Those two things may be enough to take care of the problem withou help from us. :)
