Ive recently tried to follow this guide:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925196

That I believe will fix my problem, however when I come to deleting the upper filter it wont let me delete. I have looked at another guide, and the permissions are fine and set so I have full control, yet I still get an error when trying to delete.

Does anyone know why this is and how I can fix this?

Thanks

Make sure you have a backup of the registry before you delete anything

It is so important

If you have any security app's running some kind of registry guard,
you can't until that security app is closed.

You could try log in with administrator account, and see if it helps.

But before you go roaming around in the registry, I would advice you
to download Erunt and make a backup of your registry.

Windows own registry backup feature is not enough!

Erunt

Thanks I did made a windows back up but ill download that program you advised too thanks.

I am logged in as administrator.

Im only following the guide ive been given that is in my first post, but I just cant delete any registry keys no matter what the permissions.

Ill try closing all security things, I mean all I have open is AVG free that I can think may be security. Would that affect it possibly?

I couldn't say. I don't know the new AVG that well.

But you could try doing it in safe-mode. Maybe that'll work.
