You should probably check the manufacturer's website for the video card you want.

Hi SirNight33

Check what your 450W PSU delivers in AMP on the 12V Rail.

Easy way to check:

Remember to touch bare metal before roaming around inside
your case to prevent anti-static electricity!

Remove cover from the case.
Find your PSU

There should be a label, with different Volt values and what they produce in AMP.
Look for the 12V.

Your card, GF 8500GT needs 22AMP (GF 8500 GTS needs 26AMP)

480W Power Supply
AC Input:
100~120Vac 10A
200~240Vac 5A

DC Output:
Load Min Max
+3.3V 0.3A 28A
+5V 1.0A 36A
+12V 1.0A 16A <- im guessing this is the 12v rail thing?
-5V 0A 0.5A
-12V 0A 0.8A
+5VSB 0A 2A

Hi SirNight33

You need a power supply delivering

22 AMP (Amperage) for the GF 8500GT
26 AMP (-----"------) for the GF 8500 GTS

On the 12V Rail.

MTBF

Uhmm, I don't exactly know that.

For that you have to wait for some others to chime in.
