I am trying to repair my cousins computer, when booting windows xp it simply lags and shows me the BSOD claiming there is a fault in the non-paged area.

i have run several tests using PC Check by eurosoft, which gave me nothing. interestingly enough when i connect the hard disk to a usb adapter i cant seem to get it to work, so i would think its a hard disk problem however when running chkdsk from the repair console it actually finds errors on the disk.

i just cant get the chkdsk to fix the problems...

what is your advice.

thanks
