Drive Name, Folder and File Names

I'm sure I came across this before.

There's this drive D named New Volume(D:) but its in blue. Everything in it has a blue file or foldername as well. What's going on?

open up my computer, right click on the drive in question and choose properties, is the "compress drive to save space" box checked? if so uncheck it and you'll notice the drive and it's contents go back to normal
