This is probably a very silly question but can anyone help me. I have been trying to put my music in a certain order for example, Quiet music, rock music, dance music etc etc. So I thought if i number each type by 01, 02 03 and so on it would then sync across to my MP3 as all the ones begining with 01 then 02 and so on. But it didnt. It just sync'd them at random.
Is it possible to put each type into a folder them sync them across?

depends on your MP3 player....and the software you use to make the MP3s (if you're ripping CDs on your own)....

all MP3s that are generated in the proper way (i.e. ripped with software that can accomplish it from cds that have valid info on them or mp3s bought on itunes or wherever) have what's called id3 tags...these tags contain the artist info, track info, album info, and usually have a genre associated with them....there are even programs that you can get to tag your mp3s after the fact

most decent players have the ability to play based on genre....and most mp3 organization tools have the ability to sort by genre.....and pretty much all mp3 players have the ability to do playlists...

you could create playlists for each genre, or if your mp3 player can do folders you could do it that way...though most mp3 players that support a folder structure don't play by folder structure...they play by the id3 tags (i.e by artist or track name)
