i have installed a game named Grand theft auto vice city from a CD.It was correctly installed.but when i click it's ikon in the program menu or the main dir.it shows the following error

I bought another game CD but the problem persits.please help

Try testing your systems RAM memory. Having memory errors may cause problems like this. Here's a free memory tester.

Memtest86 is a stand alone program that cannot be executed under windows and must
be loaded from a floppy disk.

To install Memtest86:
- Extract the files from the zip archive
- Open the directory where the files were extracted and click on "install.bat".
- The install program will prompt you for the floppy drive and also prompt you to
insert a blank floppy.
- To run Memtest86 leave the floppy in the drive and reboot.

NOTE: After the boot floppy has been created you will not be able to read the floppy
from windows. This is normal.

i installed the mem86 program as u had mentioned.i ran the test but my comouter hangs!!!!!!!!!!
only the cursor blinks and no keys work i restarted it many times but the problem persits!

Sounds as though you're having some type of hardware problem. Most likely the memory or motherboard. If you're comfortable opening the computer case, and have more than one stick of RAM, try removing them one at a time and see if memtest86 will complete.

hi,thanks for ur views guys!i solved the problem!the vendor in our locality was selling pirated CDs.i bought the orginal,now it is working fine.thanks once again.
