"file" recently vanished from my Outlook window bar? Why does this happen and how to I put it back??

Hi defacto,

Try this:

1. From the Tools menu, select Customize.
2. Click on the Commands tab.
3. In the left box, click on Menu Bar.
4. The right box should now display all the normal commands with File at the very top.
5. Click and drag the File item to the normal location on your menu bar (to the left of Edit), and release the mouse button.

You should now be restored. If Word asks if you want to save Normal.dot, say Yes.

That should do it.
