FIRST, i tried to lure them with fresh green leaves! they sent me a ransom note saying i only like yellow files. how did i get them? well, it is hard to tell, in one week i downloaded limewire, foxfire, stumble, and mozilla. my guess would be limewire. i disquised myself yellow and used my own wire, i wasn't about to give into the worms and let trojans exit the front, . remember this is my first expejrience fighting anything on acid. i went to the network drives in my hardware devices and disabled them. then i went into my programs and windows files and tried to delete windows explorer and foxfire, explorer would not let me, fox did. finally the pop ups turned into irritating warning signs my HTML was not working. (one every second). i went into to my programs and surfed for any cookie files, suspicious files with masks, i noticed files that looked like windows dos files and software symbols the difference was the names and the lack of "microsoft lables" i deleted those. i noticed they mutated right before my very eyes. so i renamed them they mutated, tried putting them in a corner they kept peeking, laughing, mutating. so i went into the regedit files. the word comes literally from the g®eek word reget it. i deleted any and all files that didn't pertain to my precious files or windows some names were obvious(porn, ads, spyware, love, travel, hollywood titles and so on), i used my search like virus gone wild. i put in every name in outerspace. the search helped. next i changed the files numbers any that had a 1 to a 0. or altered the names hoping the mutation would stop. although the pop ups stopped to one every few minutes or completely until i rebooted. i went and checked the network devices again. the trojans opened the back and front door they downloaded network devices i didn't even know existed. so i finally got smart and pulled the plug. i never got them under control, i worked for two days until my program, window, regedit files looked naked, i don't even know how XP kept rebooting but it did. this was the first time i couldn't crash my computer or even put it in safe mode. they wanted me to burn my files. i don't even think they had plans to eat them. they just want to joust. i decided i would go get software to remove. i was told there is none that i had to delete my drive and start fresh i bought a 4 gig memory card transfered my files to D and the mem card. then i deleted the c drive and put new crime fighting protection. that just half the story! i needed more than wire. i literally needed brains and chains......i had neither.
how would U have fought file munchers!
