I am currently running Norton 360 on my PC. I am looking at replacing it w/ a different brand, hopefully one that is less memory intensive and allows me to scan indiviudal folders/files at will. Any recommendations??

Some very good and easy-to-use free A/V programs are Avast, and AntiVir, AVG . Be sure to only use one Antivirus at a time, and uninstall Norton completely.

All of these are light on resources and I think you will be happy with either of them :)

Also if Norton becomes a pain to remove (which it normally is), you can use the Norton Removal Tool and get rid of it.

From BHowetts' suggestions - I would recommend AntiVir.

If you want a commercial suite I would say NOD32 by ESET or Kaspersky as they seem to be the best at the moment.

I use the basic Symantec Antivirus. I don't know if it's particularly light on resources and it isn't free, but I do know it has one of the most complete heuristic databases out there. Hope this helps!
