Hi, im new to this site a friend of mine reccomended me he told me there are really helpful people here helping other people. Yesterday my father was using the computer while i wasn't home and i guess he went to some website and got all this spyware downloaded out of nowhere straight to the computer, the desktop background has been changed to all blue with yellow text letters in the middle reading Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an anti virus or spyware remover to clean your computer. I have kaspersky and spy sweeper on my computer and none caught this which made me very dissapointed. Also i even tried to do a system restore but all the system restore points from earlier were all deleted so i couldn't do that either + i cant even change the background to my desktop, this has gotten me so frustrated! Id greatly appreciate it if anyone can help me with this problem

First off, do you use a proxy in Internet Explorer? If so, do you recognize the following?

Step1 : Correcting entries with HijackThis

Please re-open HijackThis and click Scan. Put a check next to the following entries presented in the window: (Do NOT click Fix yet!)

Restart your computer.

Step2 : OTMoveIt

Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer. Please note: If you already have OTMoveIt on your system, please replace it with this newer version.

• Save it to your desktop.
• Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Vista users, please right click on OTMoveit2.exe and select "Run as an Administrator")
• Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

• Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be Moved" window (under the light blue bar) and choose Paste.

• A log of files and folders moved will be created in the c:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder in the form of Date and Time (mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log). Please open this log in Notepad and post its contents in your next reply.
• Close OTMoveIt2

If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

Step3 : DSS

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.

• Close all other windows before proceeding.
• Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
• When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply. Note: It's likely that the two logs won't fit into one post. If so, please post extra.txt in a separate post.

In your next reply, please include the DSS logs and the OTMoveIt log.

Thank you Tal for deciding to help me! im sorry for being cynical i was just so frustrated and didn't know what to do =( , thank you for taking your time in helping me once again. Ok now i did the first step but there was a problem when i did my hijackthis scan i couldn't find

I also have a screensaver that comes up with a blue screen that starts with "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer." It then rotates between various things like "BAD_POOL_HEADER" and "BOGUS_DRIVER" and "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" and continues with "If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:" and proceeds to give instructions about checking for properly installed software and starting up in safe mode. This screen appears for a while and then rotates to the Windows graphic like it's restarting and then returns to the blue instructions page. The pages will vanish with a tap of a key like a normal screensaver. The screensaver and desktop option controls are missing from the display properties in the control panel.

Step 1 : Correcting entries with HijackThis

Please re-open HijackThis ---> Szcan, and put a check next to the following entry:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 200.44.156.156:3128

Now close all windows but HijackThis, and click Fix Checked.

Step 2 : Updating Java

Upgrading Java:

• Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6.
• Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
• Click the "Download" button to the right.
• Select your Platform and check the box that says: "I agree to the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 License Agreement.".
• Click on Continue.
• Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation (jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe) and save it to your desktop. Do NOT use the Sun Download Manager..
• Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
• Go to Start > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
• Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
• Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
• Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java version.
• Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
• Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.
