Hi,

I have a Gateway laptop that had numerous windows opening when using Internet Explorer. McAfee virusscan found several viruses/malware and deleted the files. Since then, when starting Windows (Pro with SP-1) I receive a BSOD: "STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC00000005, 0x8055FE16, 0xEFAED97C, 0x00000000).

I receive the same STOP code when starting Windows in SAFE mode, thus I am unable to obtain a HiJack This log for posting.

Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated.

(BTW, the original disks for this computer are not available.)

Thanks for any help.
