I am 100% computer challenged.... sad to say... :)

I took a video with my camera the other day and the extension is .avi... it is only about 2 minutes but the file is 85MB!!! I'd like to upload to my blog site but it takes forever to upload... is there a way... to change the file size? if I change .avi to something else will the file size be small? Like when .bmp is changed to .jpeg the file size shrinks.. can you do that with video file? I tried to right click on the file, properities, advance and compressed the file to save disk space.. but it is still at 85MB. Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance. :)

85Mb for a 2min video isn't unusual.

Load it into Windows Movie Maker and save it back out as Windows Media File. With this method and broadband quality video you can get 8 minute video into around 35Mbs so do the math to estimate your file size for your 2min video.

BTW changing the extension on a file doesn't physically alter the file itself. Its a bit like sticking a new label on a tin of paint doesn't change the colour of the paint that's already in the tin.
