hi

i need to place borders on my page on three sides like a 'u' , i dont want a border on the top as i have a title there.

i go to borders and shading dialogue and go to the page borders tab and set borders on three sides, and not on the top, this results in the side borders extending till the edge of the paper on the top side, i want them to stop at the top margin.. how do i do this?

On the Borders & shading window, click on the Options button towards the bottom right hand corner. On the next window, the Measure from drop down should read "Edge of page". Change it to "text"
