Trouble switching back to clone mode

Hey, sorry if this has been asked but I couldnt find it.

Anyway, I just got a new laptop and hooked it up to my old monitor. It worked fine and displayed a clone of my laptop fine. I then switched to extended mode but didn't want to keep it like that. But when I uncheck "Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" it just greys it out and turns off my 2nd monitor. I know it can't be my video card because it worked fine the first time. I just cant find the spot to change the settings I guess. So any help would be great. thanks.
