Hello all,

I have been trying to delete the adware and spyware on my computer now for almost 3 months, I Have Ad-aware and Spybot but neither of them seem to get rid of the programs they just detect them and say they're removed. Can anyone please help me ?

Also I know I have Adzgalore pop-ups all the time.

Thank you for your time and effort,
Maverick

Hello Maverick4136,

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
If you find that you can not post all of the requested logs, please make multiple posts to ensure I get all of the requested logs.

In your next reply I need the following:
- main.txt
- extra.txt

Hello Maverick4136,

You don't need to attach any log file(s) unless I specify or you are unable to use the copy/paste function. It's easier for me to analize the logs if you simply copy and paste them like you did :)

Let's run a few scans and see what we can't get rid of as well as see if there's anything else on your computer.

Step 1:

  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan only button.
Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O2 - BHO: adzgalore - {1bd1f855-8c54-d77c-34d3-c9ffdd3176be} - C:\Windows\System32\nsa2ACB.dll
O2 - BHO: mysidesearch search enhancer - {d871053e-d550-9c54-ea2f-c41c1398e0c0} - C:\Windows\System32\pivenkzvdts.dll
O2 - BHO: cpmsky browser optimizer - {da96268d-84e5-efc1-8a49-06328b4044a1} - C:\Windows\System32\{1bd051a2-6a61-9417-d0a4-a36efca22ee4}.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [{f1b1531f-c8ca-c335-40b0-0ff7f991c4bc}] C:\Windows\System32\Rundll32.exe "C:\Windows\system32\{1bd051a2-6a61-9417-d0a4-a36efca22ee4}.dll" DllInit

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis.

Step 2:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browserClick Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browserClick Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Step 3:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

Step 4:

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Kaspersky online scanner uses JAVA technology to perform the scan. Please follow the instructions below under Upgrading Java, to download and install the latest version.

  • Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
  • It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
  • When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
  • Make sure the following is checked.
    • Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
      Archives
      Mail databases
  • Click on My Computer under Scan.
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
  • You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
  • Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.
  • Please post this log in your next reply.
Upgrading Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6.
  • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Select your Platform and check the box that says: "I agree to the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 License Agreement.".
  • Click on Continue.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation (jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe) and save it to your desktop. Do NOT use the Sun Download Manager..
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java version.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.(Vista users, right cklick on the jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe and select "Run as an Administrator.")

Step 5:

Please run Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) again.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open main.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt in your next reply.

In your next reply I need the following:
-MBAM log
-Kaspersky log
-DSS main.txt

I have run the Kaspersky Scan multiple times however when I save the report it does not appear on my computer but it says it is there when I go to save the report again. I have posted on the Kaspersky Lab support but nothing of any relevance yet.

The DSS scan is as follows below but it is supposed to be a step after the Kaspersky scan.

Thank you again for your continued effort.

Hi there,

If you run into a problem while following one of the steps I give you, go ahead and skip to the next step and let me know what the problem was the next time you post. It lets me know what's going on and I will be able to assist you better.

Did you update Java to the latest version? (Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6) If not, please do so by using the Upgrading Java instructions on post #6.

You currently have multiple Anti-Spyware resident shields enabled. You only want one enabled, at most. Norton Internet Security acts as a firewall, Anti-Virus, and real time Anti-Spyware protection so please use the following steps to disable TeaTimer and Windows Defender:

You may want to print out all of the instructions I give you as some of the fix may require you to boot into safemode and you will not be able to access this page.

Step 1:

Unhide Hidden System Files and Folders.

  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading SELECT Show Hidden files and folders.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.

Step 2:

Disabling Windows Defender
  • Go to "Tools" | "General Settings"
  • Scroll down to "Real-time protection options"
  • Uncheck "Turn on real-time protection (recommended)"

Step 3:

Disabling TeaTimer
  • Open Spybot Search & Destroy.
  • In the Mode menu click "Advanced mode" if not already selected.
  • Choose "Yes" at the Warning prompt.
  • Expand the "Tools" menu.
  • Click "Resident".
  • Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active." box.
  • In the File menu click "Exit" to exit Spybot Search & Destroy.

Step 4:

OTMoveIt2 -

Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it.
  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    C:\Windows\system32\pivenkzvdts.dll
    C:\Windows\system32\nsa2ACB.dll
  • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be Moved" window (under the light blue bar) and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
  • Close OTMoveIt2
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

Step 5:

File Submission
  • Go to UploadMalware.com
  • Fill in your username and the link to this thread.
  • Click on Browse and locate this file on your computer.

    C:\Users\Kyle\AppData\Roaming\wklnhst.dat

  • Click on "Send File".

Step 6:

Lets run an F-Secure online scan for Viruses, Spyware and RootKits:
  • Go to http://support.f-sec.../home/ols.shtml
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Start scanning button. A window will pop up.
  • Allow the Active X control to be installed on your computer, then click the Accept button
  • Click Full System Scan and allow the components to download and the scan to complete.
  • If malware is found, check Submit samples to F-Secure then select Automatic cleaning
  • When cleaning has finitished, click Show report (this will open an Internet Explorer window containing the report)
  • Highlight and Copy (CTRL + C) the complete report, and Paste (CTRL + V) in a new reply to this post
If Automatic cleaning with Submit samples hangs, click Cancel, then New Scan
  • When the cleaning option is presented, Uncheck Submit samples to F-Secure
  • Click Automatic cleaning
  • When cleaning has finitished, click Show report (this will open an Internet Explorer window containing the report)
  • Highlight and Copy (CTRL + C) the complete report, and Paste (CTRL + V) in a new reply to this post
Notes:
  • This scan will only work with Internet Explorer
  • You must have administrator rights to run this scan
  • This scan can take several hours, so please be patient

Step 7:
  • Click Start then click on Run.
  • Copy and paste the following in bold in the open window and then click OK.

    "%userprofile%\desktop\dss.exe" /config

  • This will open up DSS configuration.
  • Click on Check All.
  • Click Scan.
  • DSS will now run when finished.
  • Please post back both logs that open in notepad.
  • main.txt and extra.txt

Let me know how your computer is running :)

In your next reply I need the following:
-OTMI2 log
-UploadMalware results
-F-Secure results
-DSS main.txt and extra.txt
