I tried to do a repair on my PC which has WinXP PRO installed. I used my original disc but a message appeared indicating that the disc was earlier than the disc for the current software. I can only think that a newer disc was used by a techie who worked on the PC last year. Is there a way I can get over this problem?

if the disc is service pack one and you have downloaded and installed service pack two then thats why your getting the error....you need to remove the latest service pack .......the same applies to windows service pack 2 and you installed service pack 3....you can remove the service pack from your add/remove programs
