Hp ze4400 not turning on

I cant get my laptop to turn on. Its a HP Pavilion ze4402US. I was using it when the screeen started going darker. I turned it off took out the dead battery, put in a new one, but it would not turn on. When I plugged it in I get the orange charging light for the battery, but when I hit the power button, nothing happens. Any idea on what the problem is or how to fix it?
