i have Already viewed the topic http://www.geekstogo...SO-t201586.html and i have done all the steps up to Combi Fix so far.

The only problem i ave had with this thread is installin the Recovery Console im aware of how to do it just unsure of wot version to install since im running Win XP Media Centre Edition with SP2 so im not sure which version i need to install?

Bassically what was happening was when i turned the pc on Kaspersky kept finding problems all the time and made the pc Run incredibly slow and i couldnt open up websites but then when i could id be flooded with popups. most of the time the pc would just freeze on the desktop and only thing i could do was bring up task manager. It would also tell me that Automatic updates are turned off and when i did turn it back on again next time it was restarted it would have turned them back off. iv managed to run the comobi fix now and just running the kaspersky online scanner as im typing this (im on a different computer)

Hello, my name is fenzodahl512 and welcome to Geekstogo.. Please don't bump your thread.. Helpers are looking for zero reply thread to work on.. Please do the following..

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) from HERE or HERE and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • Please let your firewall allow the scanning/downloading process.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

Regards

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE or HERE

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

Please include a fresh Deckard System Scanner in your next reply (after Malwarebytes' step)... Please also tell me about your computer conditions..

Well, your log looks clean to my eyes...

Since you mentioned that you have remove Kaspersky, tell me, what antivirus do you use now?

Do you still use AVG7? It's outdated and no longer support by Grisoft..

I believe your computer is running fine right now.. but tell me if you still have anymore computer problem..

AVG8 is a great free antivirus.. it also include antispyware.. MBAM is one of the best antispyware program currently.. I strongly suggest you to keep it..

Please post a fresh DSS log after you install AVG8.. :)

I'm gonna back tomorrow as I'm sleepy right now.. It's already 2.10 am in Malaysia... :)

Cheers..
