Hi there,

That PSU probably won't help any at all. Dell have proprietary units, you'll need to order a compatible PSU.

I recommend this one.

When exactly do you get this BSOD?
Did you or your friend install any hardware in it other then the default hardware in the dimension e510?

this was my first bsod in awhile but i got it when i booted up windows.

i installed a graphic card, 1.5gb ram, i added a 40gb IDE hard drive and soon a new power supply. the default hardware in this PC is a on-board graphic chipset, 256mb ram (which was dead), a 80gb sata hard drive. i put a IDE hard drive in so i could have more space... the PC had problems before i put all this stuff in though i believe.

my friend gave it to a technician to see if he could fix it before and i believe the tech put a new 120mm CPU fan in this PC and thats all. the tech said the hard drive was bad but if thats the case then i would of lost data by now.

usually my PC restarts when doing things like playing a game and after it restarts the PC will boot up fine until i open something like firefox and it restarts again. sometimes i get those beeps, sometimes my graphic card fan stops spinning upon boot up too which is why i believe the power supply is whats wrong with this PC... its like the PC dont have enough power to keep things running.

thats what i fear :). it might not hurt to at least try though..

i read somewhere that dell stopped doing the proprietary unites around 2002. inside of this PC case it is marked "october 2005".
