I know you guys are the best so here I go. My new Vista Laptop has only a few months of life. The free Penicillin my brother installed on it when he first started it for me ran out a few weeks ago. Stupidly I thought I wouldn't need anything since Mcafee had never really done anything for me in the past.

Well, I was foolishly downloading an mp3 from I don't know what site and viola, worst nightmare. I immediateley began to get this pop-up of Anti-Virus 2007 Pro and how my computer was infected and I needed to buy the software...yeah right! I knew I'd gotten something bad. I then would get pop-ups of the stupid ad every five minutes. Also I began to get pop ups of other websites whenever I would link to another website.

Ex. I'd click on a video on YouTube and it would take me their but another window would open up from some other website like "Furgo" or something like that and "vampires" something...creepy! Anyway, I installed your program SUPERAntiSpyware and it seemed to have gotten rid of the Antivirus Pro Pop-Ups.

But, I'm still getting miscallaneous website pop-ups when browsing the web. They don't occur everytime a window pops up like before, but around every 5 window openings. I'm also having trouble typing this message. I know I'm pressing all the buttons but sometimes I have to repeat because they won't appear on the screen, as if I'd missed the button but I know I didn't.

Please Help!

Hi again :)

Please follow the directions below.

Run an Online Virus Scan
Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

- Click on "Kaspersky Online Scanner" and click "Accept"

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click "Yes".
- The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
- Once the files have been downloaded click on "NEXT"
- Next click on "Scan Settings"
- In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
"Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:"
"Extended" (if available otherwise "Standard")

- Scan Options:
"Scan Archives"
"Scan Mail Bases"

- Click "OK"

- Now under "select a target to scan" select "My Computer"
- The program will start and scan your system.
- The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
- Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.

Next click on the "Save as Text" button:
- Save the file to your desktop.
- Copy and paste that information in your next post.

Get DSS Logs
Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
- Close all other windows before proceeding.
- Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
- If your anti-virus or firewall complains, please allow this script to run as it is not malicious.
- When the scan has finished, two notepad files will open named main.txt and extra.txt. Please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt in one reply and extra.txt in a separate reply.

Hi Michkamona :)

It's definitely not as bad as it looks. The virus scanner should have taken care of the problem for you. Just one more log needed to be sure :)

- Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
- Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
- By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
- Click on Install.
- It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
- Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
- Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
- Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
- Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
- DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
