Can't update windows media player

I open Windows media player. Then Help, check for player updates. The problem is that "check for player updates" is not highlighted. That means i cannot click it. I have genuine windows and WMP version is 10.

I have tried upgrading by installing WMP-11 from its installer file, but it shows error.

Plz help.
