I have followed all steps prior to posting my log. Numerous hours and frustration at this time. I was able to remove the bugs and the "Warning", however, I see I am still infected. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! :)

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) from HERE or HERE and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • Please let your firewall allow the scanning/downloading process.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

Looking at your system now, one or more of the identified infections is a backdoor Trojan. If this computer is ever used for on-line banking, I suggest you do the following IMMEDIATELY:

  • Call all of your banks, credit card companies, financial institutions and inform them that you may be a victim of identity theft and to put a watch on your accounts or change all your account numbers.
  • From a clean computer, change ALL your on-line passwords for email, for banks, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, on-line companies, any on-line forums or groups you belong to.
Do NOT change passwords or do any transactions while using the infected computer because the attacker will get the new passwords and transaction information. Please refrain from using this computer for online-banking/financial purpose until we give it all clear

  • Click on the Scan button.
  • Select everything it is displaying there
  • Click the Fix button.
  • Then rescan with DAFT again - it should say now that "All associations are OK"
  • Close DAFT if you receive that message. This means that it is fixed now.

Please temporarily disable your CA Internet Security Suite (disable HIPS, firewall, antivirus) prior to our fix..


Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Vista users, please right click on OTMoveit2.exe and select "Run as an Administrator")
  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Owner\Application Data\internaldb6334.dat
  • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List of Files/Folders to Move" window (under the light Yellow bar) and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • A log of files and folders moved will be created in the c:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder in the form of Date and Time (mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log). Please open this log in Notepad and post its contents in your next reply.
  • Close OTMoveIt2
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

I noticed that you already have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware at your disposal.. Please run and update it..
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly.



Please post the following logs in your next reply.. Please re-enable your CA Internet Security Suite now..

1. OTMoveIt2
2. Malwarebytes'
3. A fresh DSS log (after Malwarebytes' step)

It appears my computer has been cured of all the nasties. Do I have an all clear at this time? I believe it became vulnerable when my original security system (EZ Armour through my ISP) changed to CA Internet Suite. For future reference, do you have any recommendations to minimize any potential threats? I really really appreciate all the help you have provided. :) A thousand Thank You's to you!!! :)

It appears my computer has been cured of all the nasties. Do I have an all clear at this time? I believe it became vulnerable when my original security system (EZ Armour through my ISP) changed to CA Internet Suite. For future reference, do you have any recommendations to minimize any potential threats? I really really appreciate all the help you have provided. thumbsup.gif A thousand Thank You's to you!!! :)

Great to hear that.. You log looks clean to my eyes...


Now for some cleanup..
  • Make sure you have an Internet Connection.
  • Double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Vista users, please right click on OTMoveit2.exe and select "Run as an Administrator")
  • Click on the CleanUp! button
  • A list of tool components used in the Cleanup of malware will be downloaded.
  • If your Firewall or Real Time protection attempts to block OtMoveit2 to reach the Internet, please allow the application to do so.
  • Click Yes to begin the Cleanup process and remove these components, including this application.
  • You will be asked to reboot the machine to finish the Cleanup process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.




NEXT


Please Install/Update Sun Java

Updating Java:
  • Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs.
  • Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
  • It should have next icon next to it: Posted Image
  • Select it and click Remove. This will uninstall the previous (outdated) version of Java.
  • Then Download and install the newest version from here: Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6




NEXT


Let's clean your Restore Points and set a new one:

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous Restore Points which are likely to be infected)
To create a new Restore Point.
  • On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
  • Click Properties.
  • Click the System Restore tab.
  • Check Turn off System Restore.
  • Click Apply, and then click OK. This will flush your old System Restore.
  • Then please UNCHECK the Turn off System Restore.
  • Click again on Apply, and then click OK. This will create a new Restore Point
System Restore will now be active again

If you are using Windows Vista, please go HERE for tutorial on how to use, disable and enable System Restore

I noticed that you already have...

1. CA Internet Security Suite consisting of your antivirus and firewall
2. Malwarebytes' as your antispyware...
