I just built a gaming PC for a guy at work. His dad is pretty old and does nothing but play video games all day. Rock On Man.
After building the system, the brings in this old Logitech WingMan Extreme joystick his dad uses to play flight simulators. I didn't have a game port and he didn't want to use a USB converter. I bought a Diamond XTremeSound 5.1 sound card with game port.
I can't get Windows to find the game port.
I installed the card and the drivers from the included CD. I had audio, but no game port. Next, I tried to install the game port manually, but that didn't work either and Windows couldn't find a driver on the included CD for the port. Then, I downloaded the latest driver from the Diamondmm website and installed it. Unfortunately, that didn't help either.
Is there a trick to those old game ports?
Thanks,
Magus
