My girlfriends mother is having issues on her pc, she bought that tupid xp antivirus 2008 thing and I tried to remove it using several different method found on the internet. Basically what is happening is that when she clicks on any of her files she gets one of those windows errors with the send error report and don't send buttons at the bottom and the screen goes blank for a moment and then comes back to her desktop as if she had just started her computer.

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update:

• Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6 and save it to your desktop.
• Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6...allows end-users to run Java applications".
• Click the "Download" button to the right.
• Read the License Agreement and then check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement". The page will refresh.
• Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save the file to your desktop.
• Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
• Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.
• Check (highlight) any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
• Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
• Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
• Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
• Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.

• Save it to your desktop.
• Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

Once you install the Recovery Console, when you reboot your computer, you'll see the option for the Recovery Console now as well. Don't select Recovery Console as we don't need it. By default, your main OS is selected there. The screen stays for 2 seconds and then it proceeds to load Windows. That is normal.

Could you now update me on any problems you are still having

Ok what is happening now is that, when she clicks on a movie or music file it comes up with an error report saying Dr watson post mortem debugger and has a send/don't send button, when you click either the file still plays vbut the desltop blacks out and then comes back.
The drwatson debugger window also comes up when she attempts to use her photobucket account.

Her AVG 8.0 says that it needs to be updated and says it updates successfully but she needs to restart, when she restarts it comes right back up and says it needs to be updated so it has a continuous cycle.

Reference AVG8 I would recommend that you uninstal and then re-install the programme, as it appears you had a corrupted dll which has been replaced.

Reference the dr. watson, the problem may be a corrupted account

So, I would like you to create a new account on your computer:

Go to Start > Control Panel

Double-click on "User Accounts"

Go to "Create a New Account" type the new name for the account, then click the Next button. Choose "Computer Administrator", then click "create account". Now reboot your computer and log onto the new account you just created.

Let me know if you can access everything without the Dr. Watson error message.

Ok the avg is fine that did it.

But its still getting the drwatson thing like before on the newly created user account, still a problem.

What media player are you using for music and videos ?

I've attempted to use windows media player, M-Player, and Quicktime.
The watson thing comes up when she accesses her photobucket account as well.

OK lets do a deep look, but I am not sure if it will find anything

Download OTScanit to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.

• Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS.
• Open the OTScanit folder and double-click on OTScanit.exe to start the program.
• Check the box that says Scan All User Accounts
• Check the Radio buttons for Files/Folders Created Within 90 Days and Files/Folders Modified Within 90 Days
• Under Additional Scans check the following:
  • Reg - Approved Shell Extensions
  • Reg - Desktop Components
  • Reg - Disabled MS Config Items
  • Reg - File Associations
  • File - Additional Folder Scans
• Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
• Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
• When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
• Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.

• Click Add Reply
• Under the reply panel is the Attachments Panel
• Browse for the attachment file you want to upload, then click the green Upload button
• Once it has uploaded, click the Manage Current Attachments drop down box
• Click on to insert the attachment into your post
