My brother bought "Defender Pro 2008" but is having problems installing it. It copies all the files to the HD but when the window that asks "is ready to install and just click next" Well, when we click on it nothing happens. We did everything from erasing and copying the files, three times, with no luck. To wait up to an hour after clicking "next". I don't know but could the problem be that for some reason another antivirus software window pops up and asks to be installed. It's called "the winfixer" and it's supposely from the windows security center. We try to uninstall it but can't find it anywhere. Where might this program be so I can erase it and install Defender Pro. I hope what I wrote makes sense and you can help us. If not, just ask away.........

Thanks

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
