I'm getting a laptop, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz, 1 GB RAM, 80GB hdd, Intel GMA X3100 video, and a 1.3 MP camera. I don't know anything about webcams. Is this camera worth anything? Or should I just forget about trying to use it?

Depends on the resolution of the camera you want. Some at the same pixel rating can have better resolution than others. Some come with software that allows certain filters to be applied to your image for special effects.

You're welcome. If you know make/model of camera, you can look the specs up online.
