The internal battery is buried inside the cases and you will need to split the top and bottom cases to replace it. Also you may not find the exact internal battery you need. I have already done that with much frustration. Splitting the 2 computer halves is not for the lighthearted, it can be frustrating at times if you have no experience. I would buy a new battery for it and let the dell run on that battery. As long as you take care of it and charge it regulary you won't have any problems.

You need to check what memory you can run in the laptop. Some can run only PC100 memory. Also you may be limiter on how much memory the laptop will see.
