Here are my system specs:

Windows XP
ATI Radeon 9250 256MB DDR Graphics Card
768MB DDR RAM (512+256)
Pentium 4 2.0ghz Processor

When i enter the game, it loads and the framerate is pretty good. But the graphics in small portions disappear, and come back very fast when i move. its only in certain spots on the screen. it only does it with this game, and i am using the latest drivers 5.4 catalyst. could it just be the demo? or is it my hardware?

try running the game with everything set to low detail. doom3 is a dx9 game and your card isn't capable of fully displaying all of the new dx9 effects.
