I've noticed some problems with my PC lately.. It's been acting a lot slower than usual.

And let me know if installing SP3 helps.

Well I was told that going to SP3 was a problem. My friend did and he has been having problems since.

The last thing I did might've been downloading a movie from the net.

Are you using a HP/Compaq computer?

Plan A: If you are not you can install SP3 without expecting any problems, especially if you disable Symantec before you do the install.
Is your computer is a HP you will have to check if the processor is a AMD.
If it's not stick with plan A.
If it is download and run this script

Let me know the result whether you followed plan A or if you ran the tool (click OK at the prompts)

I cannot disable Symantec. We have an enterprise version running in my network. I'm not the network admin but my father is. My computer is neither HP nor Compaq but it is a custom built.

If it is installed on the server then it shouldn't pose a problem.
