Windows XP Update Killed Internet and Active Sync

Hi;

Internet working Internet stops - after running a Windows XP security update issued 07 07 08 I could no longer access the Internet and could not access my Pocket PC using Active Sync.

IE returned the page not found error, OE could not download messages and Active Sync could not access my Pocket PC.

I managed to do a system restore and got all the above working but a have noticed a couple of other problems, just before I did the windows XP update I updated Adware and now that has corrupted.

Any ideas - searched MS Web and there are no reported problems!!
