When I click Join Game on game menu the game crashes. Vista sent an error report, It has been doing this for the passed few months. I can join a game thru xfire fine.

ya sp1 is installed and have cod4 V.1.7

well, you can try creating a shortcut that takes you directly to the server. That is how I do it.

C:\cod4\iw3mp.exe +connect 75.126.13.136: 28960 +set cg_drawFPS 1 +rcon login YourPassword+password ReservPassword

First password is for Rcon. Second Password is for reserve slot. If you don't have either one, then you don't include them.
+set cg_drawfps 1 is to turn on fps. You don't need to set that in the command line. Once entered it will stay.
+connect is the command to connect to the specific server ip and port.

i use xfire to join servers that i have in fav, i just want to find other server off of list.

i just rememered xfire can show list of all server , i guess ill do that
