I have a HP Pavilion notebook with Vista home premium. Since installing sp1 I have lost the ability to use the sleep command.
I have set all the power controls set so that I should be able to use sleep, but, it is even grayed out in the start-shutdown area.
Any help would be appreciated.

:) Problem solved!
Under administrator on command line ran 'powercfg -h on' and received the following message:
there are one or more legacy drivers installed
VgaSave
internal system component has disabled hibernation
Checked what VgaSave was, and it is a windows program the takes the place of your video driver if there is a problem.
Reinstalled the latest driver from Nvidia any Sleep is Back!!!!!!!
