Hi everybody,
I am new to this forum and was hoping somebody could help me. I have a new server that I set up recently the same way I normally set servers up. It is a Server 2003 standard R2 machine and runs in a standard network of 1 DC, so nothing dramatic.

The machine works fine apart from remote desktop. I normally run mstsc /console rather than launching remote desktop directly as I find it better to run the same session, so that I can keep the same windows open from the remote desktop session when I am actually on the server etc.

I do this all the time at all my sites and have never had any problems but with this particular server I remote to it, then disconnect and when I get back to the server it asks for my password, as normal. When I enter it though the hard drive starts accessing constantly and the screen is just black. It stays like that for a few mins and then slowly the screen comes up, wallpaper, icons, taskbar. Then all of a sudden the hard drive stops accessing and everything is fine.

Nothing in event viewer, run dcdiag and everything is fine.

Anybody come across this before??

Thanks for any help.
