This is my final resort to sort out the problem. I have tired a load of other things and downloaded and used the ulities in the Guide on this forum. But now I need hands on help.
I got a virus warning today (29th April) from Norton AntiVirus saying that the "dllbas.dll" file had been infected by the new Trojan.Vundo.B virus (which was only added into the virus definitions for Norton on 28th April I believe). I went through the steps Norton usually goes through to get rid of viruses. Anyway the Quarantine failed and so did the delete. I then followed the instructions given by Norton at:
http://www.symantec....valinstructions
Didnt work either. The dllbas.dll can't be deleted manually, copied, moved or anything since its in use all of the time and loads incredibly early in the start-up process and I don't know how to get it to stop so I can get to delete it. Thats basically my question: "How to delete dllbas.dll?".
The location of the infected file is: C:\WINDOWS\AppPatch\dllbas.dll
There are no other trojans or viruses currently on my system that Norton picks up. I would love to get this problem sorted though! Just so you know - I am not an expert computer user by far. My HiJackThis log is below:
