A friend asked for help with a bad malware infestation, and since he knows null about machines, I helped him out with a hard copy of the "Do This First" thread and a thumb drive loaded with ATF Cleaner, HJT, etc.

4 hours later, all we had been able to accomplish was a run of Super Anti Spyware, and finding an older version of HJT already on his machine. Aside from ATF cleaner, nothing else would run, even from my thumb drive.

The HJT log from his older version is attached, as I can't copy and paste it into the thread.

Hello, my name is fenzodahl512 and welcome to Geekstogo... Please just post the logs here as it is.. Please don't attach logs unless requested...

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) from HERE or HERE and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • Please let your firewall allow the scanning/downloading process.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
If you are using Vista, you need to right-click at dss.exe icon and choose Run as Administrator

Regards
