I believe that I have completed all the steps in the article provided. However, my computer is still slow at start up with the icons not appearing. As you have said it is most likely not malware which is the culperate. If that is the case, is there anyone else that I should talk to or is it something I will just have to live with?

Lets do this.. Just for my final check before I send you to Windows forum..

Please go to Start >> Run >> and copy/paste below into the box >> Press Enter

"%userprofile%\desktop\dss.exe" /config


At DSS configuration box, press Check All button and then press Scan!

DO NOT tick the Backup Registry Hives option.

UNTICK the Temp Cleanup option.

After that please post the main.txt and extra.txt here

Ah.. my bad.. lets do this...


Time for some housekeeping

• Click START then RUN
• Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK
  Please note that the space between x and / is needed
  
  

This will delete any specialized tools that we used that not needed anymore.. I suggest you to keep Malwarebytes' and ATF Cleaner.. The rest is your choice..
