I am picking up where another person left off. It was reported to me that AVG 8.0 reports the W32.Zatyudi.A virus but does not remove it and evidently hangs up with it. I have found a site that gives intstruction dealing with the registry, but it mentioned keys to delete and/or restore that do not exist on my PC, thus am at a loss.

This PC, a Dell Dimension 2400 with a 2.4 gig Celeron processor and 256 mb of RAM running Win XP Pro, has been running very slowly. I have done the standard troubleshooting to try to speed it up--scans, deleting temp files, looking for unwanted process, etc. to no avail. I do not know if the above virus has been causing the problem or not.

I am new to this forum. I tried to attach a HighJackThis file, but I get the mssage "Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload this type of file." But, I hope that you can get me started on a solution!

Thanks thanks in advance for any responses!

Hi there sorry for the delay,

If you still need help please do the following,

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
Note:These logs may be too large to post in one reply, if so, please post extra.txt in a seperate reply.
