Question about email addresses appearing in Outlook Express address bo

Not sure what my nephew is doing when checking his hotmail. Addresses from mailing lists he is on are all of a sudden are appearing in my mom's address book in her Outlook Express.
What would cause this to happen?

Is he using her Outlook Express to receive or send mail? Is he logged on to a different account on the computer, or is he using your mom's account?
