I just finished installing a new hard drive and a new copy of XP Pro in my first pc build.
I started out with a 599 g drive.
When I got to the partition options of the XP install, i added 2 new hard drives.
Now I only have C and E.
They each have a around 150 g's.
I can't find another partition.
Can't find the dead space.
Can't format E.
Acronis Disk Manager can't find it either.
Hope somebody can help with this.
Thanks.

Have you updated XP to at least SP2? That will be necessary for it to see larger drives. Also you may have BIOS limitations which might be overcome by an upgrade. If you got a software disk with the new drive try using it to see the drive. It should not have any problem seeing the whole drive.

Tyger,
I installed service pack 3. SP 2 was on the disk from MS.
The board is a new P5Q-E P45 motherboard from Asus.
I'll check the bios this afternoon.
Thanks.
