I've ironed out most of the problems I was dealing with for the past day but need help with this one.
It appears that I've 'locked' the files in XP Pro when I installed the new os on a new hard drive.
I say that because I can't install updates from Windows.
And when I went to uninstall something I got a pop up stating that some files could not be removed because they were locked and that I had apparently made that choice earlier.
So please tell me how to unlock the files or if you think there is another reason for Windows updates not installing please tell me.
I turned off al security software and it made no difference.
Thanks.
