I AM TRYING TO SET UP A NETWORK BETWEEN TWO COMPUTERS USING A CROSS-OVER CABLE, THE DESKTOP IS THE ONE I WILL BE DIALING UP WITH.. OH AND YES I USE A DIAL UP CONNECTION.. I HAVE TRIED TO SET THEM UP AND MY DESKTOP SEEMS LIKE IT IS HAVING NO PROBLEMS THOUGH MY LAPTOP IS SAYING LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY.. I AM NEW AT THIS... I AM RUNNING WINDOWS XP HOME ED. SP2.

ALSO, AFTER SETTING UP THE NETWORK DO I HAVE TO DO ANYTHING SPECIAL LIKE MOVING SOMETHING??? :tazz:


desktop: hp pavillion a200y, 512 bytes of memory, 80 gig hd, 2.4 ghz cpu.

Laptop: compag presario 2223us, 256 mem. 40 gig hd, 1.3 ghz cpu.
