Hi! Has anyone encountered this error on the IBM Thinkpad 600E? I read from the net that this is a keyboard error. I am currently using an external keyboard because some of the keys of the internal keyboard are no longer working. Unfortunately, I think one of the keys got stuck and now the laptop always goes to the test screen every time I open it. While I can bypass the error and proceed to load Win XP, everytime I click on a program (ex. MS Word), it opens the said programs over and over again until the memory is all used up.

I am wondering if there is a way to disable the internal keyboard and just use the external keyboard which I am currently using. I saw some cmos modification to disable the trackpoint (the red pencil eraser-like rubber on the keyboard) but couldn't find one for the internal keyboard.

Thanks! :)

With all due respect, would it not be easier to find out which key(s) are stuck and unstick them?

The only way I know of on most laptops to disable the internal keyboard is to unplug it.
