So two days ago, I started getting messages that my hard drive was running out of space, so I tried to delete some stuff from the control panel > uninstall a program. Unfortunately I kept getting errors, and apparantly the virus wouldn't let me uninstall anything. Next, I tried to run some spyware programs, but the virus wouldnt let me open them. I looked at how much space my hard drive had left, and I had 0 bytes. I couldnt download any programs, because I had zero space left. I couldnt uninstall any programs, nothing. Finally I went out and bought Norton 360. It found 1 low risk virus, and cleaned it up, defragemented the hard drive, etc etc. I had 5GB free after Norton was done, but now I again only have 1.18GB. It seems like the virus is taking back over.

I also design websites and run http://www.leanbulk.com. When I uploaded files onto the server from my computer, they weren't displayed right at all. I went in and looked at the html, and all the files were corrupt. My computer is running slow as molasses. I have followed all instructions from the other thread, ran Malwarebytes, installed windows updates, ran the other program to get rid of my firefox and IE cookies, passwords, etc. I do not know what to do at this point. I have attached the two logs below:

Hi lets see if I can assist :)

As a Vista user I will require that all the programmes I ask you to run, be run by right clicking the icon and selecting Run as Administrator. Otherwise some programmes may fail to do their job properly

Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it.
  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670}
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670}
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\\ulkogmvc
    C:\ProgramData\ulkogmvc
    Purity
  • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be Moved" window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
  • Close OTMoveIt2
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

THEN

Please visit this web page for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix

http://www.bleepingc...to-use-combofix

Ignore all references to recovery console - not required for Vista

Post the log from ComboFix when you've accomplished that, along with a new HijackThis log.

OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer - Version 1.0.4.3 log created on 07212008_171726

When I tried to run combofix I got this error:

C:\Users\Jordan\Desktop\ComboFix.exe

The service cannot accept control messages at this time.

I am going to reboot and see if I can run it after that. Will update in a few minutes.

After the reboot I no longer get any error messages, but the program wont seem to run. I get the little box that pops up and scrolls through and then the program never launches:

OK then lets try a gentle analysis programme and sneak in the back way :)

Download OTScanit to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.
  • Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS.
  • Open the OTScanit folder and double-click on OTScanit.exe to start the program.
  • Check the box that says Scan All User Accounts
  • Check the Radio buttons for Files/Folders Created Within 90 Days and Files/Folders Modified Within 90 Days
  • Under Additional Scans check the following:
    • Reg - BotCheck
    • Reg - Desktop Components
    • Reg - Disabled MS Config Items
    • File - Additional Folder Scans
    • File - Purity Scan
  • Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
  • Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
  • When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
  • Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.
Please attach the log in your next post.

To attach a file, do the following:
  • Click Add Reply
  • Under the reply panel is the Attachments Panel
  • Browse for the attachment file you want to upload, then click the green Upload button
  • Once it has uploaded, click the Manage Current Attachments drop down box
  • Click on Posted Image to insert the attachment into your post

I have tried to upload the file, but I am getting the error:

Upload failed. The file was larger than the available space.

I tried to upload it to my server:

http://www.leanbulk.com/OTScanIt.Txt - but appears corrupt.

Whatever I have going on here has got me by the balls. Lately whenever I browse my computer using windows explorer it shuts down the program. Whether it be via IE, firefox, microsoft outlook, or just opening a folder.

Thanks again for your help!

Yep that is corrupted with a lot of Chinese characters, so I think I will initially try a vbs programme and dependant on that I will do a deep search for rootkits etc

Please RIGHT-CLICK HERE and Save As (in IE it's "Save Target As", in FF it's "Save Link As") to download Silent Runners.
  • Save it to the desktop.
  • Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
  • You will receive a prompt:
    • Do you want to skip supplementary searches?
      click NO
  • If you receive an error just click OK and double-click it to run it again - sometimes it won't run as it's supposed to the first time but will in subsequent runs.
  • You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done, let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
  • Once you receive the prompt All Done!, open the text file on the desktop, copy that entire log, and paste it here.
*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

I never got the little pop-up that said it was done, but I started it at 9pm and let it run over night, so about 12 hours total. I have attached the log below.

Thanks

Ok that showed nothing untoward so it must be really deep. Lets try and recover as much space as possible and then run a deep search

Space clearing

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.

OK this is annoying me but I will not be beat

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
