Hey everyone, this is my first post here on Geeks to Go so I hope I followed all your steps correctly.
It seems that my Symantec has been catching Trojan.Vundo and Trojan.Metajuan .dll files in system32 non-stop for the past week or so, and nothing I've tried seems to get rid of it.
I've gone, turned off System Restore, went into Safe Mode then run a Symantec full system scan + Trojan.Vundo remover; it still came back the next day.
I then went (still with System Restore off), ran a full scan of Webroot, then used CCleaner, and went into the registry but the files that were supposed to be there weren't.
After that not working, I finally went and ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. That was only an hour ago but it seems the infection is still on my computer because Automatic Updates still won't turn on no matter what- I have downloaded all the latest updates though, so no worries there.
I went ahead and saved both the Malwarebytes and HijackThis logs and will post them below.

Thanks for all the help, this infection is really starting to get on my nerves.

Hello, my name is fenzodahl512 and welcome to Geekstogo.. Please do the following...

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) from HERE or HERE and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • Please let your firewall allow the scanning/downloading process.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
If you are using Vista, you need to right-click at dss.exe icon and choose Run as Administrator

We need to get rid of some of the services running on your machine. To do this, copy (Ctrl +C) and paste (Ctrl +V) the text in the code box below to Notepad.

@echo off
sc stop "Viewpoint Manager Service"
sc delete "Viewpoint Manager Service"
exit

Save it to your desktop as File name: Service.bat
Save as type: All Files

Once done, double click Service.bat to run it. A command window will open briefly, then close. This is quite normal.

If you do not sure how to make a batch file, please visit HERE for the tutorial.

System Overview
After following all your directions to the word, everything seems to be working fine on my computer. I was able to turn on Automatic Updates, major websites (such as Youtube and Myspace) are now loading, and there haven't been any pop-ups. There was a Symantec warning saying how it found a Trojan.Vundo around 10 minutes ago, but that was within its Quarantine and so was deleted. Everything seems to be working normal.

Great!.. Your log looks clean to my eyes....

Now for some cleanup..
  • Make sure you have an Internet Connection.
  • Double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Vista users, please right click on OTMoveit2.exe and select "Run as an Administrator")
  • Click on the CleanUp! button
  • A list of tool components used in the Cleanup of malware will be downloaded.
  • If your Firewall or Real Time protection attempts to block OtMoveit2 to reach the Internet, please allow the application to do so.
  • Click Yes to begin the Cleanup process and remove these components, including this application.
  • You will be asked to reboot the machine to finish the Cleanup process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

Let's clean your Restore Points and set a new one:

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous Restore Points which are likely to be infected)
To create a new Restore Point.
  • On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
  • Click Properties.
  • Click the System Restore tab.
  • Check Turn off System Restore.
  • Click Apply, and then click OK. This will flush your old System Restore.
  • Then please UNCHECK the Turn off System Restore.
  • Click again on Apply, and then click OK. This will create a new Restore Point
System Restore will now be active again

If you are using Windows Vista, please go HERE for tutorial on how to use, disable and enable System Restore

Thanks so much for your help! My system is running back at normal speed, no pop-ups have appeared at all, no warnings have come from Symantec about Trojan.Vundo or .Metajuan. It seems all your steps have worked, as everything seems to be perfect.
Feel free to close. =)
