Hello pmb8799,

Before running a new scan let's clean out the temporary folders.

Download ATF Cleaner to your Desktop.

  • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  • Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browser, do this also:

  • Click Firefox at the top and choose Select All from the list.
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
  • NOTE : If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browser, do this also:

  • Click Opera at the top and choose Select All from the list.
  • Close ALL Internet browsers (very important).
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
  • NOTE : If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Now download OTScanIt.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.

Note: You must be logged on to the system with an account that has Administrator privileges to run this program.

  • Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS.
  • Open the OTScanIt folder and double-click on OTScanIt.exe to start the program (if you are running on Vista then right-click the program and choose Run as Administrator).
  • In the Drivers section click on Non-Microsoft.
  • Under Additional Scans click the checkboxes in front of the following items to select them:

    • Reg - BotCheck

      File - Additional Folder Scans

  • Do not change any other settings.
  • Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
  • Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
  • When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
  • Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.
  • Save the file to your desktop or other location where you can find it back.

Use the Add Reply button and attach the file in your next post.

Hello pmb8799,

OTScanIt and Avenger

Step #1

Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.
  • Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
  • Extract avenger.exe to your desktop

Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Drivers to delete:
MyWebSearchService
Files to delete:
%systemdrive%\progra~1\mywebs~1\bar\1.bin\mwssvc.exe
%systemroot%\kgxmotapktx.dll
%systemroot%\system32\elgtvrah.ini
%systemroot%\system32\fprppr.dll
%systemroot%\system32\guwmlwbj.dll
%systemroot%\system32\gvfffmns.ini
%systemroot%\system32\harvtgle.dll
%systemroot%\system32\jkkhaxun.dll
%systemroot%\system32\lphc9bpj0eg6j.exe
%systemroot%\system32\ngeqlu.dll
%systemroot%\system32\nuxahkkj.ini
%systemroot%\system32\nuxahkkj.ini2
%systemroot%\system32\nwfvakek.dll
%systemroot%\system32\nxvtaoqi.dll
%systemroot%\system32\rabrbuws.dll
%systemroot%\system32\vazjnz.dll
%systemroot%\system32\vcnegk.dll
%systemroot%\system32\vtuljbbs.dll
%systemroot%\system32\ymveeiph.ini
Folders to delete:
%appdata%\funwebproducts

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.

  • Click in the window labeled Input Script Here and paste the text copied to the clipboard into it by pressing (Ctrl+V).
  • Click the Execute button
  • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

The Avenger will automatically do the following:

  • It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
  • On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  • After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

Step #2

Start OTScanIt. Copy/Paste the information in the codebox below into the pane where it says "Paste fix here" and then click the Run Fix button.

If the fix is complete, click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix. Post that log back here in your next reply.

If a reboot is required, click the "Yes" button to reboot the machine. After the reboot, OTScanIt will finish moving any files that could not be moved during the fix and NotePad will open with the final results at that time. Post that log and a new Hijackthislog back here in your next reply.

Hello again! I completed what you sent me. The pesky winantyspyware logo is still in my toolbar on my desktop. I am also having trouble turning on the automatic updates on my computer. I dont think the symantec antivirus program is not working properly. Do you recommend any sites in which I can ensure that my computer is safe and crisis free in the future? Thanks again and for all your help! I still need it!

Hello pmb8799,

Could you post the log of Avenger, and OTscanit?

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report and a new Hijackthislog in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

Hello pmb8799,

How is your computer running now?

While TeaTimer is an excellent tool for the prevention of spyware, it can sometimes prevent HijackThis from fixing certain things.
Please disable TeaTimer for now until you are clean. TeaTimer can be re-activated once your HijackThis log is clean.
  • Open Spybot Search & Destroy.
  • In the Mode menu click "Advanced mode" if not already selected.
  • Choose "Yes" at the Warning prompt.
  • Expand the "Tools" menu.
  • Click "Resident".
  • Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active." box.
  • In the File menu click "Exit" to exit Spybot Search & Destroy.

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

Hi! I followed the instructions given, but Spybot won't allow me to make the (delete)change. It says that the registry change was denied. Don't know what to do to allow spybot to allow the change. Here is the log, but as you can see the file that we are trying to delete is still there. Other than that, the computer is behaving! :)
