My friend's cd-rom drive was reading only certain disks. He talked to a guy and he said to try a cd-rom cleaner. He did that. When he tried to install a phillips web cam disk, it sounds like it is reading it but then he gets a message that says "the feature you are trying to use is on a cd-rom or other removable disk" and it won't read it. What can he do to fix this issue? Does he need a new cd-rom drive or is there something else he can do?

Your best bet is to buy a new cd-rom drive.
There are extremely cheap these days and are SUPER easy to install.
if you want to look at some, go to places that supply Lite-On drives, because they're usually the cheapest
