I have a laptop that I use for college and up unitl revently its worked great. I have a month till college and when I started up my computer i ran into a problem. After the login window, while windows is loading the toolbar freezes up. The arrow to show the hidden icons duplicates itself also. I have access to the clock, the start button and any windows minimized within the taskbar. All my programs load fine. I think I may have a virus since I do get some pop-ups and my internet explorer runs extremely slow. Also when I turn my computer off my homepage gets reset to a whynotsearchhere.com page.
The message: Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\etdwncbr.dll Access Denied

Thank you for your time.

Hello VTut2734, my name is fenzodahl512 and welcome to Geekstogo..

Please have a read at this topic and do all the preliminary steps given.

If you are using Windows Vista, or if you are using XP and already have Service Pack 1a or later, please ignore Step Three: Windows Updates and continue with Step Four: Reboot - Test

It should handle about 70% of your malware problem.. Should the problem still exist, please post a fresh HijackThis log here as shown in the Step Five: Posting a Hijack This Log.. Thank you :)

Regards
