Hi,

I am from Sri Lanka and am using an Acer Aspire 4315 laptop and a custom-built desktop. The problem is with the laptop. I connect to the internet with a slow but usually reliable ADSL connection. The problem is with an intermittent DNS error on both IE and Firefox. For instance, this morning I was connected to the internet for 19 minutes before I could access any websites. At 12 minutes after connection, the ADSL connection had sent 5,270 bytes and received 21,080 bytes, but I was still getting DNS errors when I opened IE or Firefox. I do not have this problem with the desktop.

The problem started 2 weeks ago while downloading torrents using µTorrent. I have since uninstalled µTorrent, but the problem persists.

I am using NOD32 antivirus with daily updates. As per your instructions I have used ATF Cleaner, but this has not helped. I am concerned about what is happening during the periods (of at least 19 minutes at a time) when I am connected to the internet but not able to access any websites. Is some malware using my internet connection during this time?
